Rape

Rape is when someone has been forced to have sex against their wishes and without their consent.

Research statistcs tell us that:

  • about 5% of women are raped at some point in their life
  • almost 3% of men report a non-consensual sexual experience as adults
  • and over 5% of men have reported sexual abuse as a child

Rape is a horrible and devastating experience.  If you have been raped or have had to suffer a non-consensual sexual experience at any point in your life know that under any circumstance this was not your fault, and in no way did you deserve this.
