Young people between 16 & 25 come to us if they want help with finding, keeping or managing their first home alone.

In practice most are aged 16 to 19. These are young people who for one reason or another are not able to remain in the family home. Many are young parents. By any reckoning this is very young to face independence alone. The support needed can take many forms, from practical assistance with budgeting, sorting out benefits, shopping, cooking and completing forms to enjoying a chat over a cup of coffee! With this support, young people begin to understand what is required, and are more ready to manage on their own.
