If you've made the decision that you want your own place, you'll have to have a good think about how to get it! There are actually far more options than you might think. 

Sometimes this will depend on what you're doing in life - for instance, if you're thinking of moving away to start college or uni, you probably won't be making plans to build your own place right away (unless you're starring in an episode of Grand Designs or something).

The Highland Council, along with partner housing associations in Highland, has developed a common housing register called the Highland Housing Register, which will be operational from April 2008.

It is a single housing application form by which anyone seeking housing in their area can register their need and say what housing they want.
