Isobel

Was just wondering how your organisation came to be called Calman. Is it named after someone with that name?

Sorry, couldn't resist asking, as my Maternal Grandfather was David CALMAN and I have researched the entire family.

Hoping to hear from you.

Hi Joyce

The answer to your question is that Calman is the Gaelic word for dove. The reason the name dove came into being was from the group of people who established Calman. They were involved in the church and the dove from 'Noah's Ark' resonated with them.

If you would more information on the Calman Trust Ltd reply back to us and we will be happy to give you any more info.
